 Chaz De La Garza is an AV rated trial lawyer who
has tried to verdict many IP cases of all types, including patent, trademark,
trade dress, copyright, trade secret and IP license disputes. He has
been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 1992. In addition to trial
work, Chaz has counseled clients on pre-litigation strategy, mock trials,
ADR including mediation and arbitration, licensing strategy, pre-licensing
and pre-litigation audits; litigation readiness and a variety of other
IP dispute related matters. Chaz has handled a host of technologies and products, including biotechnology, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals,
specialty chemicals, pacemaker technology,
stents, drilling equipment and procedures, telecommunications, cell phones and related PDAs and a wide range of other mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical fields. In handling trademark, trade dress, copyright and trade secret matters he has gained experience in industries dependent on such
IP protection, including retail marketing, golf, alcohol, software, and greeting cards. Chaz De La Garza has over thirty (30) years of IP trial experience, a BS in Chemical Engineering from Lamar University, five (5) years of experience as an engineer and foreman of magnaforming,
coking, cat cracking and benzene-toluene units at Arco's Houston refinery, and is a licensed patent attorney,
admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Depending upon the client's needs in particular case, Mr. De La Garza will recommend an affiliation, under the direction of Mr. De La Garza, with a firm of AV rated lawyers to provide additional resources.
